1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using DBus World, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Who We Are: DBus World is operated by Ing. Naděžda Sergejevna Papko (IČO: 21138940) in the Czech Republic. We're an independent community project - not affiliated with SCS Software or Euro Truck Simulator 2.

2. Your Account

Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, you need parental permission.

One Account Only: Each person gets ONE account. Creating multiple accounts (especially to evade bans) will get all your accounts permanently banned.

Account Security:

• You're responsible for your password and account activity
• You're also responsible for securing your Steam and Discord accounts - we're not liable if they get hacked
• We will never ask for your password

We Can Ban You For:

• Cheating, hacking, or using bots
• Harassment, hate speech, or threats
• Creating multiple accounts
• Breaking our rules or being a jerk
• Any reason we want, honestly

When You're Banned:

• Your account is gone immediately
• We may publicly show your ban status on your profile for transparency
• We keep certain identifiers (Steam ID, email hash, IP hash) for 2 years to prevent you from coming back
• No refunds, even if you supported us on Patreon

3. What You Can and Can't Do

You CAN:

• Use DBus World for personal, non-commercial purposes
• Track your ETS2 stats and manage virtual companies
• Share content and interact with the community

You CAN'T:

• Cheat, exploit, hack, or use unauthorized software (Don't try to hack us. Seriously. It's not cool, it's illegal, and our security logs will just make you look silly.)
• Create multiple accounts or share your account
• Harass other users or post offensive content
• Impersonate DBus World staff, moderators, or other users
• Scrape our data, reverse engineer our software, or attack our servers
• Abuse our API or exceed rate limits
• Use real company names/logos without permission
• Do anything illegal or harmful

4. Your Content

You Own It: You keep ownership of stuff you post (company descriptions, forum posts, images, etc.).

But We Can Use It: By posting content, you give us permission to display it, store it, and use it to run and promote the service.

We Can Modify It: We may resize, compress, or reformat your uploaded images and content for performance and compatibility reasons.

We Can Remove It: If your content breaks the rules or is problematic, we can remove it anytime.

Your Responsibility: Don't post stuff you don't have rights to, and don't post illegal or offensive content.

Copyright Infringement: If you believe content on our platform infringes your copyright, contact us at [email protected] with details. We respond to valid DMCA takedown notices and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

5. Money Stuff (Patreon)

Free Service: DBus World is free. No payment required.

Patreon Support: You can voluntarily support us on Patreon for cosmetic perks and recognition. This is optional and managed entirely by Patreon. Patreon support helps keep our servers running and our developers caffeinated. We promise to use it responsibly (mostly on servers, sometimes on coffee).

Important:

• We can't handle Patreon billing, refunds, or cancellations - go to Patreon for that
• Patreon support doesn't protect you from bans
• Support is non-refundable if you get banned
• We can change or remove Patreon perks anytime

6. Service Availability

No Guarantees: We try to keep the service running, but we don't guarantee it'll always be available. Downtime happens - maintenance, bugs, server issues, Steam API problems, power outages, natural disasters, zombie apocalypses, alien invasions, acts of God, or any other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We Can Change Anything: Features can be added, removed, or changed at any time. We'll try to give notice for big changes, but we don't have to.

Beta and Experimental Features: Features marked as "beta," "experimental," "preview," or similar are provided as-is and may be buggy, incomplete, change significantly, or be removed without notice. Beta features may contain bugs. Not the fun kind that you can collect, the annoying kind that break things. No warranties apply to beta features.

Emergency Updates: If there's a security threat, we can update these Terms immediately without warning.

No Refunds: No compensation for downtime or changes, even for Patreon supporters.

Reality Check: We're a small team running a community project, not a Fortune 500 company with unlimited resources. Please be nice to us.

7. Privacy & Data

Read Our Privacy Policy: It explains what data we collect and how we use it. By using DBus World, you agree to it.

What We Collect:

• Account info (Steam ID, email, username)
• Gameplay data from ETS2
• Technical stuff (IP address, browser info)
• Content you post

Game Client: Our game client automatically sends gameplay data to our servers when you're online. This is necessary for the service to work.

Ban Archive: Even if you delete your account, we keep certain identifiers (Steam ID, email hash, IP hash) for 2 years to prevent ban evasion. This is legal under GDPR.

Your Rights: You can access, correct, or delete your data. Email [email protected]. Note that some data stays in our ban archive for security.

8. Disclaimers (The Legal Stuff)

"AS IS" Service: DBus World is provided as-is without any warranties. We don't guarantee it'll work perfectly, be bug-free, or be available 24/7.

Not Our Fault:

• If Steam, Discord, or other third-party services have issues
• If your Steam/Discord account gets hacked
• If you lose progress, stats, or data
• If other users are jerks
• If your PC can't run our software
• Natural disasters, power outages, internet outages, acts of God, or any events beyond our reasonable control

Your Risk: You use DBus World at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

We're Not Liable For:

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, progress, or virtual company stuff
• Issues with your game, Steam account, or computer
• Other users' actions
• Service changes or downtime

Maximum Liability: If we somehow owe you money, the most you can get is €100 (or what you paid us directly in the last 6 months, whichever is more). Since the service is free and Patreon is third-party, that's usually just €100. If you somehow manage to lose a million euros because of DBus World, we still only owe you €100. So maybe don't bet your life savings on virtual trucking stats.

10. Legal Disputes

Governing Law: Czech law applies to these Terms.

Where You Can Sue Us: Only in Prague, Czech Republic courts. By using DBus World, you agree to this. Yes, we went there with that pun. Czech it out.

Time Limit: You have 1 year to file a lawsuit after a problem happens. After that, too bad.

No Class Actions: You can't join a class-action lawsuit against us. Only individual claims.

Try to Resolve First: Before suing, contact us and try to work it out.

Your Consumer Rights: This doesn't affect your mandatory consumer rights under EU law.

11. If You Break the Rules

You Pay Our Legal Costs: If you violate these Terms and we get sued because of you, you have to pay our legal fees and any damages.

12. General Stuff

We Can Change These Terms: We'll give you 30 days notice for big changes through website banners, in-platform notifications, and Discord announcements (except emergency security updates where we may need to act immediately). If you keep using the service after changes, you agree to them.

If Part Is Invalid: If a court says one part of these Terms is invalid, the rest still applies.

We Can Transfer These Terms: We can transfer these Terms to another company (like if we get acquired). You can't transfer them.

Official Version: The English version of these Terms is the official one.

13. Third-Party Services

Steam Required: You need a Steam account and legitimate ETS2 to use DBus World.

API Access: If you use our API, you must comply with our API documentation and rate limits. We can revoke API access for misuse or abuse without notice.

Not Our Problem: We don't control Steam, Discord, or other third-party services. If they have issues, that's on them, not us. Their terms and privacy policies apply.

Your Responsibility: Keep your Steam and Discord accounts secure. We're not liable if they get compromised.
